Myth #2: "Cats and Dogs Are Medically Identical"

The Truth:
Cats Are NOT Small Dogs!!
Cats and dogs both have fur and live in our homes — but the resemblance ends there.
Cats differ medically from dogs in nearly every significant way, because their bodily processes work differently. Cats have different diseases, different nutritional needs, different behavioral norms, different responses to drugs … the list goes on and on.
Most veterinary clinics are “dog-centric,” and reasonably so, because most vet school small animal classes are heavily dog-focused. As a result, feline medical knowledge comes only through dedicated cat-specific study and experience.
Cats are not second-class citizens. They deserve dedicated feline veterinary care!
